I was in the middle of Pride Parade in Washington DC on June 12th. Straight, gay, bi, trans, friends, family, young, old… basically I saw people from all background in 5 minutes. And I was there for just 5 minutes. Actually the reason that I was literally in the middle of the parade was, that it’s the only way from the supermarket to where I was staying.
I told a friend Mr. Macho about this afterwards.
‘Why didn’t you join the parade?’ He asked.
‘I don’t really enjoy crowds, not for me.’
‘But it is YOUR month! It is YOUR day!’
‘Every month is my month, every day is my day.’
‘Aren’t you happy this month?’
‘I choose to be happy every month. Every day indeed.’
‘I like you.’ Mr. Macho then came give me a hug.
Lawmakers, churches, non-LGBTQIA+ identified individuals… thank you for doing your part in celebrating equality. I am proud of YOU.
